'sea roads'
Portobello Beach,
Edinburgh, sept-oct 2016
An installation marking the invisibility of the sea road.
Interested in the idea that the sea erases all the traverses made within it, whilst land retains them: ‘Sea Roads are dissolving paths whose passage leaves no trace beyond a wake, a brief turbulence astern. They survive as convention, tradition, as a sequence of coordinates, as a series of way marks, as dotted lines on charts, and as stories and songs.’
Robert Macfarlane, The Old Ways: A Journey on Foot
